Hello, I thought I was “managing” my addiction to alcohol, but I went out yesterday and drank all day long. I blacked out for 5 hours. I don’t know what I did or how I got home. I am truly mortified. Where is everyone in the their journey in this group? Have you ever had a day-after like the one I’ve just had? What did you do? Thank you!

Thank you! No, I haven’t been back to a meeting, but I am seeing a therapist 1-1.

Hi Autumn! I can relate on a lot of levels. Thinking I could control my drinking, black outs, terrified, etc. I am grateful to have stumbled into an AA meeting in 2002 at the age of 22, and that ultimately saved my life. Giving me tools and steps to help learn how to live one day at a time without a drop of alcohol. Go figure! Therapy is also a…[Read more]
Reading your post Autumn gave me overwhelming chills remembering those days. The sense of dread was suffocating. And then I would swear off drinking only to do it again. I’m at 131 days sober since my last relapse. It gets better. Hanging out with drunks wanting to stay sober helps keep me sober. So far I’ve worked the first three steps of…[Read more]
