I just joined today..I feel this type of forum is a blessing. I often feel the meetings I have attended are too open, too raw for me to participate in…I am one of those nasty binge drinkers..weeks, a couple of months can go by and I may drink a bit or a socially accepted three glasses of wine…but then something creeps up inside me, based on…[Read more]

Pam – I don’t know where you live. What time zone are you in? Eastern Time is the east coast of the US. Google your state in time zones and you should be able to figure that out. For example, I live in OK which is Central Time, so the meeting is 6:30 my time.
And my strongest recommendation is for newcomers to go to a face to face meeting in…[Read more]-
Hi Joanne
I live in England…. I will try and google and see what time it is there… sorry to sound stupid but I have a lot going on at the moment and just want to get involved in a meeting.
Thanks
Pam

I figured it out. You are in Greenwich Mean Tim, which means the mtgs start at 11:30 PM your time. There is another site (I haven’t tried it yet) called aaonline.net that has meetings all day long, so you may want to try that.
I lived in Bedfordshire for about 2.5 years and Hampshire for about 3 years – absolutely adore the UK.

Hi there, I am also new to the site. I have 17 days sober. I have tried quitting before, but am trying to reach out more this time.

Hi Permigal, I am new here too. I’m not too tech savvy. I am posting a comment on your post. Not too sure who else sees it or how this works but 17 days is good hang in there. I am 6 days and also trying to reach out differently.

I am two weeks and feel lucky to have found this online sight…

Hi there, I have no idea how this site works but I signed up after just coming home from court where I received my first ever criminal conviction – I was charged with high range drink driving. And as soon as I got home I poured a drink. I don’t know if I necessarily want to stop drinking altogether, I just want to slow it down, a lot. Not sure if…[Read more]

Hi beejay8, That’s tough. The only think I have to offer is start with a face 2 face meeting if you can. There are usually a lot of people who have had similar experiences. Good Luck. Keep coming back

Thanks for your reply Vicki. After I posted here the other day I closed the page then couldn’t remember what it was called! Was actually just about to start googling again when I got the email notification that you’d commented haha
I will bookmark it now and definitely keep coming back, even to just read others stories to begin with and go from…[Read more]-
NP I wish I had more to offer. I am 6 days sober and have been trying to stop drinking for months. My husband stopping speaking to me and I am fearful that I have lost my husband and children. I’m glad that this post found you at the right time:)

Oh goodness Vicki, I honestly don’t know how to respond, other than sending you lots of love, strength, courage, a listening ear if/when needed, and of course an infinite supply of hugs <3
Well done on 6 days though Hun, you can do it, one day at a time xx
