Greetings, all.
I’m new to the group, and AA overall. I began drinking approximately three years ago following a very hurtful break-up. My addiction is now to the point where it’s negatively affecting my life and the lives of those I care about most.
I know I need to stop, and I do want to stop, but I can never seem to do it on my own. I need help.

Eric, if you know you have a problem and want to stop drinking AA can help. I’ve been sober 2 1/2 years and never thought I could stop.
Eric I agree with Andre.I have been sober for 3 years.I have found a really good mtg. That I attend.I never thought that I would be able to live life without a drink, but I don’t even think about drinking .Look for a Big book mtg. There is a solution.Best of luck to you.
The only requirement for membership in AA is a desire to stop drinking. For me going to meetings and not drinking one day or one minute at time helped a lot. Every time I drank I got drunk so I crawled into AA and had the gift of desperation. I was willing to do anything. Good luck Don’t drink and go to meetings
