It must be really hard dealing with a unfaithful one and raising your kids.

About two weeks ago. But then again I knew a long time but never really thought about it.
I look at myself in the mirror and I knew what I had to do . I’m going on my 8th day .
And it’s hard. But I have my mine made up I pray to god to help me through this -

Yes. That is what happened to me. I’m in my 40’s and for me drinking does not work for me anymore.
I just get sick. And I’m tired of being sick. I have been going to AA meeting every day and it helps me .
I have my bad days but I just keep talking my way through.-
Unfortunately alcohol doesn’t make me physically sick. Mentally, yes! Have you been continually sober for a while? Mostly sober with occasional setbacks? When did you first realize you needed to stop?

As I pray to God to give me strength, I'll pray that he give you strength too. I've seen I can't do this alone.

Alcoholism is a progressive disease it just keeps getting worse the more we drink. I know that from myself.

Thanks for your comment, Rose. Yes, I’ve seen that in myself, too. I’ve drunk heavily for 25 years, but the last few it’s gotten to the point where I can clearly see that if I don’t make a change my life is going to be destroyed by it. I could drive away my loved ones, lose my job, go to jail or die – and it could all happen any time.
