Women in Recovery 7 years, 8 months agoHi Beth! I 100% empathize. In early sobriety, I felt so overwhelmed by shame. I had certainly felt shame during my days of drinking, but when I got sober, it was the first time I didn’t have alcohol to numb those feelings. It was overwhelming and I felt intense self-loathing.
