Thank you for sharing. I’ve spent 30 years in the military and drink alcohol was the social. No one cared about how much you drank as long as you’d show up to work on time. Hello I’m Rick and I’m an alcoholic . My friends and family don’t believe that I am, but I have no doubt. I’ve been trying stop drinking for many years on my own and through prayer,but I keep slipping. A week or two of abstinence followed by a week or three of straight binging. I’m tired of the guilt.

Congratulations! I used to minimize my sobriety thinking that I had to have lots of time to feel “a part of”, rather than “apart from”…truth is that if you’re as alcoholic as I am, one day…make that one hour, is an absolute miracle! I remember attending a sobriety countdown meeting and our guest speaker was an elderly couple with 30/31…[Read more]
