If you truly are tired of drinking, AA is a good place to start! Go to meetings, get a sponsor, and work the Steps…just a suggestion…

No advice, but I will share some experience, strength, and hope…I’m a counselor/therapist as well and studied this subject in depth. Congratulations! I used to minimize my sobriety thinking that I had to have lots of time to feel “a part of”, rather than “apart from”…truth is that if you’re as alcoholic as I am, one day…make that one hour, is an absolute miracle! I remember attending a sobriety countdown meeting and our guest speaker was an elderly couple with 30/31…[Read more]

Congratulations on your first AA meeting…keep coming back!!! This is my first try at an online meeting forum! One suggestion that I did in early recovery is to call into an AA office; local or otherwise. I volunteered at an office and most have a 24/7 hotline with a fellow alcoholic on the other line eager to listen…wherever two are…[Read more]
