As with any open forum, there are rules. We have four very simple ones. Since this website was built for the purpose of finding recovery through the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous, we also recognize ALL of the 12 Traditions as a foundation of how we operate.
- Be respectful: We’re all at different stages of recovery. As such, we all have…

@Haven you don’t have to feel alone because you’re not alone. Get to meetings – here and face to face. Get plugged in and do service work! I can’t stress that enough how important that is. Glad you’re here.

This is such a difficult concept for some to take, myself included. I was born and raised as a Sunday and Holiday’s Catholic as a child and the Catholic faith left a bad taste in my mouth. I thought they were all […]

I am a little late to this thread, but so happy you made it here. I would encourage you to read the chapter in our basic text (The book of Alcoholics Anonymous – or what we AA’s refer to as “The Big Book”) title “More About Alcoholism“. It might help you draw some conclusions and learn some facts about yourself. Only YOU can diagnose yourself as…[Read more]

I’m really happy you’re here. Being an active alcoholic is not easy. If you’re anything like I was, you’re either:
Busy drinking
Busy planning when you’ll drink next
Busy trying to get money to drink
Busy making excuses about why your drinking is OK
Busy being hung over
Etc…It’s a full time job. But, you’ve taken the first plunge…[Read more]

Our lives are full of daily decisions – some critical, some not so critical. Some have lasting impacts. Some don’t. Each are treated differently depending on the situation and various other factors while other decisions are instinctual. For example, I discovered that I always put my left leg into my pants first when I get dressed. This is not a…[Read more]

Yeah Jason your right about the fact that once the ‘obsession’ drives us to the first drink, Â the alcohol is then the person. Â You could go as far to say that the alcoholic has multiple personalities. When under the direct influence of alcohol, Â the subject is no longer him/herself. Â The doctor jeykle – Mr. Hyde syndrome as the BB puts it. Â Un…[Read more]
